Data Recovery Feedback: As long as you have not written anything to the disc since formatting all the data should still be intact. As you say you need some recovery program to try and restore this “lost” data.
We use Ontracks Easy Recovery Pro but for a one off use it is a bit expensive at nearly 400GBP so try this webpage
